Nanotechnologies Research and Training Center
The Nanotechnologies Research and Training Center is a state of the art research institution established in 2011 within the framework of the RF… Infrastructure” (2008—2011). It is equipped with the scientific and technological “NANOFAB-100” complex, a scanning electron microscope JSM-6510LV with an X-ray energy-dispersive spectrometer and lithographic prefix NanoMaker Full, as well as a scanning probe microscope, the NTEGRA Aura. Other features include a special clean room of ISO 7 purity class designed to accommodate its nanotechnology complex.
The laboratory is proud to highlight numerous projects, like the creation of a new memrisor chip, an internationally funded project (Foundation for Basic Research, Russia/Belarus) dedicated to developing nanomaterials and emitting optoelectronic integrated circuits. The laboratory also works on associative systems for next-generation computers, neural networks, and artificial intelligence research.
Tyumen’s energy sector uses much of the research developed at the Nanotechnologies RTC. For example, the RTC created a vital thermal protection coating used on the blades of gas turbine engines for gas pumping stations, a project commissioned by a “Gazturboservis” Cooperation (2010). Likewise, in 2014 the university received an electro-vacuum plant for ion implantation and for forming protective coatings (NNV-6.6-I1) for heat-wear- and corrosion-resistant coating on turbine engines.
The Nanotechnologies RTC’s numerous projects make it a vital part of University’ of Tyumen's research capacity.

Research and Training Center for Social and Educational Studies
The center was created in 2010 by the academic staff of the Institute of Psychology and Pedagogy under the leadership of professor V. I. Zagvyazinskiy. The center’s goals include: exploring the ways to improve the development potential of information technologies; the development of new teaching tools; providing means to activate creative thinking; the creation of user interaction models with automated education systems; the exploration of ways to improve the development potential of new information technologies; and the creation and improvement of educational programs and courses.
The center's staff successfully implemented the project titled "Personality formation in the social and cultural information space of the modern national education" in 2010-1012 under the Federal Program "Scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of innovative Russia".
The center regularly organizes scientific and technical seminars on practical methodology of social and educational research.

Multidisciplinary Research Training Center for Language and Discourse Studies
Director Dr. Natalia Belozerova established the Multidisciplinary RTC for Language and Discourse Studies in 2010 for applied research into languages and discourse. The interdisciplinary nature of the center integrates research from the natural sciences and humanities. Researchers implement the results from the RTC into the educational processes. These results include the provision of ecological culture and awareness of the immanence of nature and personality.
In 2012, the center’s staff successfully completed the project "Study of language ecology and related sciences", carried out at the expense of the Federal target program "Scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of innovative Russia".The center's team works closely with foreign partners: Universities of France (Toulouse, Nice, Brest, Albi), Italy (University of Genoa, University of Rome, University of Bologna, University of Cagliari), the University of California (USA), and Planck Institute (Germany).
Of note is the RTC’s partnership with the University of Toulouse. The UTMN center’s staff conducted school seminars (studio) for graduate students and young teachers at the LARA-CPST there.

RTC for Regional and Sociocultural Studies
The Research Training Center on Sociocultural Studies, established in 2010 and led by Dr. Gulnara Romashkina, conducts complex interdisciplinary studies of the region’s urgent issues related to the methodological, theoretical, and practical components of the region’s socio-economic capacities. The staff has also implemented the project titled "Development of innovative region management techniques, based on the use of socio-economic development indicators and testing the methods on the Tyumen region" funded as part of the Federal Program called: “Scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel for an innovative Russia.” In general, the RTC implements socio-economic, sociological, and marketing research relevant to the Tyumen region. The training center has also created and tested a teaching system based on project results. This system aims to train qualified personnel and develop professional competencies for programs related to regional and managerial governments, as well as contribute to corporate management development.
Currently, the RTC is working on modernizing the region’s long-term socio-economic development strategies, providing regional stability, and expanding innovation. An example of such a project includes the concept of living space ecology for improving economic, social, and environmental factors. Researchers also leverage university-wide research and organize conference, meetings, and symposia.

RTC for "Social Studies and Innovation"
Dr. Gennadii Kutsev, an Academician of the Russian Academy of Science, runs the Research Training Center for Social Studies and Innovation. The center implemented the project titled “Development of models and technologies for the indicative monitoring of the region’s innovative environment,” a program within the “Scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of innovative Russia” Federal Program.
The Research and Training center reveals that the innovative process relies on a number of important factors, specifically awareness, interest, evaluation, testing, and learning and developing from research. The RTC uses such principles to design a number of social scientific innovations, namely models and technologies for indicative monitoring of regional innovative development conditions, the index system, factors and models for an innovative environment. Furthermore, the center has also improved upon a methodology for the study of the Russian region’s innovation environment, and has carried out a study of the interaction between different regional components (infrastructure, management, science, norms and values, investment, and production among others).
