Society and Environment program combines history and geography in order to emphasize the interinfluence of people and nature in the process of studies

Course content

Within new educational model "2+2" students have 2 years of general courses in English combined with the Russian language preparatory course. The first introduction of the program chosen will be through the choice of electives. Last semester of the 2nd year will contain a number of professional modules. Third year is the time to choose you major - "History" of "Geography" - with the number of profile modules all oriented at ecological issues in Russian language.

Learning outcomes

Graduates of the program will be able to continue studies at sucessive Master's Program "Environmental Humanities" at Anthroposchool of the University of Tyumen, or at similar programs of the leading Russian or global universities (Higher School of Economics, St.Petersburg European University, University of Munich).

Graduates of the program are trained to operate in the spheres of education, geographic research of natural, economic, ecological objects and systems at global, national, regional and local levels; excursion activity; architecture, design, geodesy, topography (cadastral registration, engineering and technical design for urban planning, landscaping and gardening of territories, urban planning); rocket and space industry (GIS application for solving the state and municipal level tasks); planning, territorial design, management, examination, monitoring of natural, anthropogenic, natural-economic, ecological-economic, industrial, social, recreational, public territorial systems and structures of different spatial levels.

Employment possibilities

Pedagogical component of the program gives the opportunity for the graduates to become secondary school professors.

Graduates with prevailing expert and analytical competence can be in demand at administrative positions and expert agencies.

Graduates are able to work at Russian popular science media (Arzamas, Post-nauka, Ecosphere), cultural educational projects.
